Road to Worldvision: Alvaro and Rugenian Delegation Arrive in Saint Monkey for Contest Week

By Max Behr

Saint Monkey – The countdown to the Worldvision Song Contest 122 is officially on, and for Rugenia’s delegation, the adventure has just begun. This afternoon, Rugenian-Achaean singer Alvaro, accompanied by his 12-member team from Maregrad, landed at Chimpangutan Banana International Airport to begin their journey to the contest stage.

The group was greeted with warm applause from local fans, curious travelers, and members of the Saint Monkey organizing committee. Some had even brought hand-painted banners and miniature flags, combining the Rugenian tricolor with rainbow motifs.

Alvaro, wearing a purple and black coloured outfit, seemed relaxed yet focused, taking time to chat with well-wishers and pose for photos. “It feels good to finally be here!“ he said. “We’ve been preparing for months, and now the real work starts.”

The Worldvision Song Contest is not just about music - it’s a week-long cultural and creative showcase where delegations from across the world gather for rehearsals, press events, and performances that will be watched by millions. Rugenia’s entry, co-written by Alvaro, blends pop energy with anthemic choruses, and is rumored to feature bold staging elements designed to stand out in a crowded field.

In his first press moment on Saint Monkey soil, Alvaro made a symbolic gesture: holding both the Rugenian flag and the LGBTQ Pride flag. The move drew cheers from many fans but also sparked debate back home. “We still have a lot of awareness work to do in Rugenia“ he told reporters. “It’s not only about laws - it’s about education and understanding.”

From the airport, the delegation now faces a five-hour journey to Orangamonk. The journey is expected to give the team a chance to rest, rehearse in their minds, and prepare for a whirlwind schedule of technical rehearsals, costume fittings, and meet-and-greet events with other artists.
